Pencil dresses are almost always chic, sexy and a wonderful staple for your wardrobe. One can never have too many dresses. A nice pencil dress can be purchased in a variety of colors and prints. You can even have a sleeveless dress or with sleeves. I choose to sew a mid – level pencil dress with sleeves; that stops at the knee and have three-quarter length sleeves.
Materials:
Woven Jersey Knit
Pattern Review:
McCall’s pattern M6886 dress B was super easy to sew with woven fabric. Cutting takes the most time, about 20- 30 minutes!
Sewing the dress takes about 1-2 hours.
Alterations:
I added a belt, which can also be used as a scarf. The belt I used around the waist to minimize any extra pounds. Also the belt adds a unique flare to the pencil dress.
How will you style:
This style of dress can be dressed up with heels or worn more comfortably with slip on flats or a cute pair of sneakers. Whether you are heading to a party, date or everyday casual wear, then a pencil dress is the perfect fit.
Wear your solid pencil dress with statement jewelry and heels, and be ready for a fun night out on the town. Dress down your dress with a denim shirt, leather jacket and flats. I love prints and lace styles as well!
On the Go Style! Catch me if you can 😉
