Decorative throw pillows can jazz up a living space, as well as add comfort. I love to sew pillows and they are very easy to make. Pillows can be sewn using various colors and textiles. I like to use home textiles or mud cloth because of the texture and weight of the fabric.
Throw pillows are the perfect accent for a sofa or bed. They add character to a space.
I have been sewing simple pillows for several years. Pillows are very easy to sew using straight lines on fabric and filling pillow with polyfill, cotton or stuffing. A simple throw pillow can also be sewn in less than one hour.
MATERIALS:
Fabric – (I like to use a medium weight fabric)

A DIY throw pillow is a very simple project to sew.
Follow the directions below:
Step 1: Cut Fabric to desired size (I cut my pillow 14 x 14 inches)
Step 2: Fold over or place fabric with right sides facing each other
Step 3: Pin fabric around edges. Pin on the wrong side of fabric (Not the right side)
Step 4: Sew on wrong side. Leave a 4 inch opening (hole).
Step 5: Insert stuffing in hole
Step 6: Sew hole closed with sewing machine or hand sew using a blindstitch.
Throw pillows are the ultimate quick fix for your interior decor revamp. Just add color or message pillows to a solid color sofa. I love using throw pillow for decoration as well as comfort. Pile them on my bed for a comfortable set up for lounging and reading a good book.
