Prepping my model before we photograph. Making sure the garment is adjusted and fits. I am excited about the look!
Giving direction to my model on how to best showcase the outfit details and beautiful sleeves. Below, I am checking the images as they appear on the screen.
I had the amazing opportunity to style my first editorial at the Conde Nast building in NYC. The atmosphere was perfect. It takes a great team to pull off a look. My team was awesome; beautiful model, photographer, makeup and hair. Everyone was professional and knowledgeable about their craft, which made the photoshoot day run smoothly. Below, are a few quick tips for styling:
Basic Styling Tips:
- Create a mood board: using colors and style and inspiration of the way you envision the model to look and communicate.
- Selection: Fit the model and have a few looks the choose from. Take a quick polaroid or camera phone image to digest the styled look in a new frame. Select your favorite. Then go for it!
- Trust your gut: know what you want, be flexible. Listen to your inner feeling which confirms that this is the right outfit for the frame or look you desired portrayed.
I am excited to share the completed look with you. Stay tuned……
Love & Blessings,
Kay
