Becoming a sewing teacher has been a very rewarding experience. Winter Sewing Workshop Series at the DC Public library was such an enriching experience for the participants as well as for me. Each week the audience grew larger and more engaged. We created eye-glass case, clutch bag and pillow. The participants were engaged in their sewing projects and wanted to learn and create more.
The past workshop was held on March 17, 2016 attracted a group of regular sewers and a few families. One mother who brought her two elementary aged sons, whom were so excited about sewing. They each created their own project, one sewed a pillow with a pocket and the other a small action figure pillow. These boys were truly talented and very skilled. The mother told me that her sons would watch her sew an home and their interest grew from that moment. Sewing is a great skill to have, whether you are mending a seam or sewing a designer outfit.
Creating community custom projects and learning a new skill is the purpose. Check out a few testimonials from the workshop participants.

We will be rolling out a few spring workshops for kids, teens and adults.
