Sewing a Bralette was on list of sewing projects to complete for months. I am excited that I finally in process of sewing my first DIY Bralette. Earlier this week, I took a trip to Mood Fabrics in NYC, to purchase some lace material. Check out some of my favorite fabric stores in NYC here.
Style: Bralette
Fabric: Lace
Sewing: Machine
Project Time: 1 – 2 hours
Destination: Bedtime and Comfortable Lounging
A nice bra and panty set can enhance a women’s being. Lingerie allows women to feel sexy in her own skin. Showcasing her beauty, no matter the shape and size. Lace material is very delicate and chic. I love wearing and sewing lace. There is something very classic and mystical about lace material.

I used my lace material from Mood Fabrics, to sew my first bra. Follow the steps below to sew your own Bra and Bralette.
Steps to Sew Bra and/or Bralette
Step 1: Shop desired fabric. I selected lace.
Step 2: Measure cup size (bust) and around your chest, as well as right below your bust. Use a tape measure to get exact measurements.
Step 3: Cut 2 half sized triangles. (4 total) You can use this pattern here to help. Cut elastic for straps and chest.
Step 4: Sew 2 half triangles together (4 total). Sew lining as well.
Step 5: Sew top tip of bra strap (elastic) to front top of lace triangle. If you desire, you can also sew extra elastic down the front cup of lace. This is just an added detail.
Step 6: Pin and Sew the front to lining. Sew on the wrong side of fabric. (leave opening on the bottom edge to flip to the right ride of fabric.
Step 7: Turn fabric to correct side.
Step 8: Attach (pin and sew) small lace detail to bottom of bra cups.
Step 9: Attach elastic band to under bra cups, place right above lace detail.
Step 10: Attach clasp (bra closure) to end of straps.
Step 11: Measure shoulder straps again to ensure the correct size and that straps are adjustable to your desire.
Step 12: Sew shoulder strap to band that fits under chest.
* * To make straps adjustable you will need slides. Simply loop the elastic through the slide and circle. Forming a figure 8 movement. Sew adjustable straps before you attach to lace material and bottom band.
Step 13: Complete bra! Cut all threads, add extra details if desired.

In your instruction it says you can use the “pattern here” but there is no link. The Simplicity patterns you list are nothing like the bralette you show in your tutorial. Where is pattern for triangles, please?
